Methodology for Defining and Ranking of Depressed Regions & Territories

The purpose of the assistance is to review and improve the existing methodology for measuring levels of social and economic development at region and sub-regional territorial level and to develop a meaningful tool for ranking the relative deprivation of different territories and monitoring changes in key indicators. The proposed methodology should reflect EU standards and approaches.

This work is to be completed within the time-scale of LARGIS II, i.e. by May 2006.
